Dr. Mindy James

Dr. Mindy James is a microbiologist with a background in biosafety program management. She holds an MS in food science and a PhD in plant pathology, both from Oklahoma State University. Prior to joining Gryphon, she served as the Biosafety Officer at Oklahoma State where she gained expertise in implementation of Federal regulations for research involving biohazardous materials, risk assessment, and BSL3 laboratory operations. At Gryphon, Dr. James focuses on projects related to microbiology, infectious disease, and topics related to biosafety such as gaps in the design and use of PPE.

In her free time, Mindy enjoys baking and traveling with her husband and children. She’s currently baking her way through the cookbooks of celebrity pastry chef Christina Tosi and is the designated dessert maker for all family gatherings. She hopes to one day make homemade croissants as good as those she shared with her children during a family trip to Seattle, Washington.
