Dr. Beatrice Kondo

Dr. Beatrice Kondo is a molecular biologist with foci in biotechnology, genomics, and personalized medicine. Prior to joining Gryphon Scientific in 2021, she was a member of the faculty at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Biotechnology Education. There, she managed graduate programs in Biotechnology, Individualized Genomics and Health, and Sequence Analysis and Genomics. At Gryphon, Dr. Kondo applies her expertise in biotechnology issues to risk assessment and course design. She received her doctorate in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where her dissertation centered on using molecular phylogenetic techniques to analyze the evolution of migration in New World Oriole species, with a particular focus on the Baltimore Oriole.

Beatrice enjoys a variety of outdoor pursuits, including caring for her horse, Stargazer, with sustainable pasture management and composting techniques, and making good use of the resulting product in maintaining her herb, fruit, and decorative gardens.
